Africa
Africa is in the South east-ish part of the world. Africa has the famous Nile river running through it starting in lake Victoria and flowing northward to the Med Sea. Africa is an extremely divers continent, it has almost every climate except frozen tundra. Egypt is the best known old civilization in the African continent. It grows because of the Nile and is protected by the Nile and the desert. The Egyptian people of old were governed by a pharaoh. The pharaoh was believed to be one of many gods that they worshiped. Egypt was conquered by Rome for a good period of time, until the fall of Rome in ad 476. After the fall of Rome Islam quickly became the dominant religion. Nubia is south of Egypt, living on the Nile. It is believed that they began iron working. After ad 400 Nubia declined in power. Ethiopia or The kingdom of Axum, was a very strong nation, mostly Christian, and was ruled by a very powerful and strong line of kings. Africa was very slow to develop. The Europeans were very quick to establish colonies in order to promote the slave trade. They would get some slaves from African warriors who were selling or trading their captives. Later Europeans found out how to tap the rich natural resources found in Africa. Most of the time African tribes are separate from each other.
